GUN Review
This review/build is for my JG Bar 10 Bolt action sniper
rifle. As I go along I will be installing various parts and some do it yourself
modifications to it to make it perform better and hope fully reach the goal of
around 600FPS with.20g BB’s, (You use the
.20g bb’s for base line chono for FPS as most fields this is the standard.) I
will be using .43g BB’s when I field it. And will give you the FPS with those
also.
The parts are being purchased from MadDawg Paintball and Airsoft in Stanwood Wa.
As I instal each part of the build I will give you a base of FPS and a description of the parts that were installed and the pro and cons of each part.

So here we go.
The base gun before modifications is a JG Bar 10 Bolt
action sniper rifle.
JG VSR-10 Marui Clone Airsoft Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
(Metal Trigger Box)
The JG VSR-10 is among the closest replica to the Tokyo Marui VSR-10 bolt
action sniper rifle popular for its upgradeable design, trigger box design and
after-market part availability.
There are a wide-variety
of upgrade part selection for the VSR-10 platform. With the various among of
VSR-10 models around, the JG is among the most faithful to the Marui design and
thus popular among sniper enthusiasts.
Weight: 5.0 kg with box
Gearbox: Metal Trigger Box (Not the Plastic Trigger box version).
Power: 400~450 fps with 0.2g BB. Upgradable to 500~500 FPS
System: Bolt Action
BB: Best with high grade 0.25g or heavier bb’s. or
compatible quality bb’s recommended.

Before I did any modifications I took a base FPS: it is shooting

Zero Trigger System:
The Maruzen's APS / Type96 and Tokyo Marui's VSR10 system are among the two
most popular bolt action sniper platforms. The Marui VSR10 system offers great
trigger response while lack the ability to manage high power upgrades. The

The Angel VSR-10 Cylinder Head and Piston Head: The
inherent design flaw of the Tokyo Marui VSR-10 is its original 45 degree piston
head. When a M150 or higher power spring is installed, the piston sear will
start to stress the piston and moving the piston forward. As a result, the
piston will experience a large amount of friction with the cylinder when you
pull and push the bolt. The complete Alpha Pro Trigger System allows provides a
Piston featuring a 90 degree aluminum piston with steel end cap and a new
concave front end design as well as a stainless cylinder head with concave
rear end design.
The only con that I see so far with the Omega trigger set
up is that the Cylinder heads is taller than the stock set up.
The stock
cylinder head is: .344” for the threads and is .474” tall
The
Angel Customs r Stainless Cylinder Head is: .417” for the threads and is .565”
tall
You can
see the difference in the height of the cylinder heads in the picture
The stock
piston is made of plastic and has a built in “air break” on the front of the
piston
The
Angel Customs piston is made CNC Aluminum Piston with Steel End Cap. This piston
and produced better compression and it should help keep consistency for the FPS
and performance.
